Vince McMahon, known for his controversial business mindset, has undoubtedly contributed to the establishment of wrestling legends such as The Undertaker, Steve Austin (Stone Cold), Ric Flair, John Cena, and many others. Believe it or not, each of them still loves the 79-year-old, and John Cena recently opened up about his love for the former WWE champion.
In an interview with the New York Times, Cena was asked about the situation with Vince. True to his character, he didn’t hold back. The actor-turned-wrestler said, “I don’t care who hears it: I love Vince. I’m not downplaying anything that needs to be decided or the allegations, but when I love somebody, I love them wholeheartedly.”

He acknowledged that people on social media are going to be angry about that, but they can’t change his feelings for the 79-year-old. This literally upset those who hate Vince McMahon from the bottom of their hearts.
Love a rapi*t is a big statement 😑

I think this is horrible to say for @JohnCena

This objectively the worse quote I have heard from anybody this week. I understand to the smallest degree his affinity to Vince, but shut the fuck about it in 2025.

I am tired of hearing Cena talk about how much he “loves” a *alleged* rapist and sex trafficker. https://t.co/L967gRSyIZ
In a time where there’s so many marginalized people that could use a voice like John Cena’s to stand up for them, he instead uses his choice and platform to stand up for a Rapist Human Trafficker like Vince McMahon https://t.co/M51po9TxBW

Why John Cena Loves Vince McMahon So Much
Everyone who has followed the organization for a long time knows that John Cena has reached his legendary status largely because of Vince McMahon. Vince pushed Cena from the very beginning of his debut in wrestling as a babyface. That’s why we consider Cena one of the legends, and that’s why his heel turn after two decades turned out to be a landscape-changing decision.
However, the Cenation Leader has also tried his best to return the favor to McMahon. He has maintained a strong connection and support for McMahon, even during the most controversial periods in his history with WWE.
