The LSU Tigers faced the Purdue Boilermakers in college football last night at Camping World Stadium. The Tigers easily won the game by a score of 63-7 and now lead the SEC West.
Purdue entered the game as the Big 10 West table topper; however, a recent change in management caused some instability, as they lost two games in a row. In December 2022, they hired former Illinois defensive coordinator Ryan Walters as head coach and former Purdue Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Famer Drew Brees.
What happened before the match?
Drew Brees, the temporary assistant coach, was seen shaking hands with Tigers head coach Brian Kelly before the citrus bowl. Drew revealed his love for the LSU tigers when asked about the incident. “If you’re a Saints fan, you’re basically a Tiger fan,” the 2009 Super Bowl champion said in an interview before the game.

After that, they went on to discuss something several times.

Drew had his best seasons with the New Orleans Saints from 2006 to 2020. During his tenure, he won one Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP, was named NFL offensive player of the year twice and was named AP athlete of the year once.
