Following his side’s victory against the Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid engaged in some trash talk with rap legend and Raptors fan Drake.
2019 NBA finals champions Toronto Raptors went into the third game of their playoff series against the 76ers knowing that a defeat would put them in a very precarious position. The 76ers were holding a 2-0 lead, and thanks to Joel Embiid, the Raptors fell short yet again with the Philadelphia 76ers running out 104-101 winners in overtime.
Embiid scored 33 points and had 13 rebounds helping the 76ers stage a decent comeback after some struggles in the first two quarters. Other than Embiid, NBA icon James Harden played a huge role with his 10 assists.
After the match ended, Joel Embiid was seen at courtside taking a dig at rap superstar Drake, saying- ” I’m coming for the sweep.”- referring to a whitewash 4-0 victory in the series. Drake, who is an avid fan of the Raptors and himself a Toronto native responded by saying, ” I’ll be ready for the sweep.”
Drake is often seen courtside supporting Nick Nurse and his team. The legendary rapper is one of the leading ambassadors of the Toronto-based Raptors. The Raptors fanbase will be hoping that Drake’s energy will be channeled into his home team as the Raptors are one loss away from having a premature ending to their season.
