“I’m definitely gonna smash this dude”: Michael Chandler claims to finish Conor McGregor in two rounds by KO

In the main event of Bellator 243, former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler made a substantial statement by knocking out the former UFC champ Ben Henderson right in the first round.

Conor McGregor is the former two-division UFC champion and one of the most well-known and divisive fighters in the sport. The Irish has been rumored to be fighting Iron Michael sometime this year.

Michael Chandler: How I’ll Make Conor McGregor See Jesus in Two Rounds

McGregor is someone Chandler admires for his self-belief and influence on the sport, and he seems to have nothing but respect for him. He said on “The Pat McAfee Show” after his win:

“I’ve never once hated on him. In the very beginning, I did say he’s not as good as he thinks he is, but he’s better than we think he is, and he continued to prove that.” Following UFC 250, Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor, has been sidelined since his TKO victory over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.

However, he later agreed to coach “The Ultimate Fighter 31” opposite Chandler, with a fight between them expected to take place later this year. If they ever meet inside the Octagon, Chandler is confident he can defeat McGregor. He said that he would finish him in less than two rounds with hard shots and pressure. He said:

“I finish Conor in under two, in my opinion. It’d be similar to, shades of (Nate) Diaz I. Wear him down, hit him with hard shots – hard, hard shots. Take every single one of his shots. He’s got that sneaky and strong and thick and hard left hand that he throws, and it’s straight. You avoid that, wear him down a little bit, make him see Jesus.”

Chandler vs. McGregor: The Fight That Could Make or Break Their Legacies

Chandler is not worried about McGregor’s notorious mind games or trash talk. He claimed that the anticipation and challenge of competing against one of the finest boxers in the world would be enjoyable. He said:

“I think it’d be fun. It’d be a great opportunity.” McGregor has not responded to Chandler’s comments yet, but he has been seen drinking whiskey on social media, raising doubts about his commitment to his comeback Chandler has warned McGregor that not showing up to fight him would be a huge stain on his legacy.

No doubt one of the most sought-after MMA matchups right now is Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler. With Chandler’s power and wrestling and McGregor’s precision and charisma, it would be a clash of styles and personalities that would probably set the UFC on fire.
