Despite falling behind 17 points, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys got a chance to beat the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday night football. Unfortunately, they fell short, and Prescott took the blame after the game. Prescott talked about how upset and frustrated he was with himself after the Cowboys lost 30–24.
The Cowboys, now 3-4 on the season, have faced criticism for their performance, especially after a blowout loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 6. Prescott’s turnovers have been a significant factor in the team’s struggles, and he is determined to improve.
Prescott, who completed 25 of 38 passes for 243 yards, acknowledged his mistakes and took full responsibility for the loss. He said, “I’m frustrated with myself and my play. I know the rest of the guys are [too], sitting at 3-4, but I can tell you that nobody is shaken or giving up. Frustration is very high, but it’s a long season.”
Even though Dak Prescott and the Cowboys made some mistakes early in the game, they still had a chance to win. In the fourth quarter, they fought back, with linebacker DeMarvion Overshown making a big sack and Prescott teaming up with CeeDee Lamb for two touchdowns and 146 yards.
Prescott tried to lead a comeback with the score at 30-24. But a long pass to KaVontae Turpin missed, and the 49ers kept the ball to finish the game and take the win.
Cris Collinsworth blames Dak Prescott for Cowboys’ loss
After the Dallas Cowboys lost to the San Francisco 49ers 30–24, NBC expert Cris Collinsworth wasn’t shy about harshly criticizing quarterback Dak Prescott. Collinsworth pointed to Prescott’s performance, particularly during the Cowboys’ failed last drive, as a key factor in the team’s defeat.
He said, “I’ll tell you, Dak just doesn’t move like he used to. He really doesn’t. There have been times we’ve seen him, pre-injury, that he was able to take that ball and make some runs out of it, That’s not really a factor in his game anymore.”
