“I’m go f*** you up”: Adrien Broner issues stern 5-word warning to Regis Prograis, hinting possible future fight

Prograis successfully defended his WBC junior welterweight title on Saturday night with a 12-round split decision victory over Danielto Zorrilla at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, Regis’s hometown.

Based on the bout, the remarks made by Regis Prograis after his fight has sparked a challenge from the trainer of Adrien Broner. The fight headlined a Matchroom Boxing card that was streamed on DAZN.

This bout marked Regis’ first title defense since capturing the championship last November by knocking out Jose Zepeda in the 11th round at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Recently, the 34-year-old Prograis inked a three-fight agreement with Matchroom, solidifying his association with the promotion.

Adrien Broner hints possible future bout with Regis Prograis

A potential matchup for the upcoming fall season could involve a bout against Adrien, a former four-division world champion. Broner recently made a comeback after a two-and-a-half year hiatus and dominated Bill Hutchinson. Securing a decisive victory on June 9 in Miami.

“AB is coming back in August and after that he’s only interested in Ryan [Garcia] or Regis,” Broner’s trainer Kevin Cunningham told BoxingScene’s Ryan Burton.

“I saw Regis do an interview the other day and he said AB looked shot against Hutchinson. I thought AB looked good considering he hadn’t fought in two and a half years. Hutchinson hadn’t loss a fight in seven years.

“Regis has one elite level opponent on his entire resume and that’s Josh Taylor. The one opportunity he had to prove how great he was. He got his ass whooped. If he thinks AB is so shot lets make it happen!”

Broner’s comeback includes plans for a late summer fight, followed by a significant matchup to conclude the year. Whether it involves facing Garcia or Prograis. A notable fight is anticipated for Broner in the near future.

Broner claims Regis Prograis’ win vs Danielito Zorrilla is ‘gifted’

Adrien Broner took to social media today to express his belief that Regis’ twelve-round split decision victory over Zorrilla in New Orleans last Saturday was a “gift.” Prograis secured the win with judges’ scores of 117-110 and 118-110, while the third judge had Danielito ahead at 114-113.

Throughout the fight, Regis appeared to struggle against the taller and longer-armed Zorrilla. Who effectively utilized jabs and long right hands from the outside.

Prograis, with his relatively shorter reach, was unable to connect with his jabs, resulting in many missed attempts.

The outcome of the Regis vs. Zorrilla fight left a substantial number of boxing fans dissatisfied. As they believed it to be a controversial decision favoring the hometown fighter.

Adrien, a former four-division world champion, expressed his satisfaction that Prograis retained his WBC light welterweight title and expressed his desire to challenge him next for the belt.
