Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira will make a return inside the octagon as he takes on Beneil Dariush in a main-event bout at UFC 289. This five-round clash will take place on June 10th in Vancouver, Canada. It is needless to say that Do Bronx will be looking to get back in the win column after Islam Makhachev stopped him in his last bout.
The feud between Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush
Unlike other matchups where the two fighters hate the guts of each other, Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush share mutual respect. However, that doesn’t change the fact that they want to rip the head of each other. Consequently, the two fighters are talking trash ahead of their highly anticipated main event bout.
One example of their trash talk is Beneil Dariush claiming that he would beat Do Bronx nine out of ten times when it comes to a grappling match. While having a conversation with UFC media, Charles Oliveira addressed this statement and discussed several other topics.

The former UFC champion also delivered a stern warning to Dariush and he promised that he will bring the fight to his opponent this weekend. “Sincerely, I’m hungry. I’m gonna go after this guy. I have all the respect in the world. But I’m gonna go after him and I’m gonna hunt him all the time. He wanted war. War is coming.”
With just a few days left for this card, everyone around the globe is excited as two of the best lightweights square off against each other. Do let us know in the comments section your prediction for this UFC 289 main event matchup.
Can Oliveira take revenge on Islam Makhachev?
Charles Oliveira is one of the most dangerous lightweights in the world. The Brazilian fighter holds the record for most submission wins in the history of the UFC and his wins over Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler show the threat he possesses inside the octagon.
It is needless to say that Oliveira had a bad day in the office against Islam Makhachev. But he needs to be flawless against Dariush and needs to be better on the feet if he faces Islam in a rematch. Because Do Bronx absorbs a lot of punches and Islam packs a powerful punch. If he does a few adjustments then there is a high chance that Oliveira avenges his loss to Islam.
