How Did Dwayne Johnson and John Cena Influence the SmackDown Roster?
WWE blue brand, Friday Night SmackDown, is the other half of WWE along with the Red Brand, Monday Night Raw. Dwayne Johnson and John Cena had a fair shares of their moments in the blue brand. Their status and position helped to boost the SmackDown brand onto another level.
John Cena at first during his initial stage of career, performed in the SmackDown division. After winning the WWE championship in 2005, he joined the Raw division. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, during his time in the company called SmackDown! “his show”, in reference to the fact that the name was derived from one of his catchphrases, “Layeth the Smack down”.
Although both superstars influenced the brand through their sheer charisma, they had a lot of bout during their run in the company. During the WWE Fastlane Press Conference, John Cena was asked about his relationship with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
In the press conference, Cena stated, ” Deep down, I was a fan. I wanted The Rock back [in WWE]. I wanted to do anything to get The Rock back, but I did it the wrong way.”
When Will Dwayne Johnson and John Cena Make Their Next Appearance in WWE?
John Cena is absent from the promotion following his Crown Jewel defeat a few weeks ago. However, there are still hopes of Cena coming back to WWE, much like how “The People’s Champion” does even after retiring. Both superstars have a packed schedule; although they return from time to time, they still have their acting careers to manage in Hollywood.
There are speculations about both John Cena and The Rock returning to WWE again sometime during the road to WrestleMania 40. Royal rumble is only a couple of weeks away, since they are expected to show up at WM 40 in Philadelphia, it will be no surprise if they make an entrance in the Royal Rumble match.
