Robert Whittaker, former UFC Middleweight Champion announced this Wednesday that he is out from the UFC 275 match with another former Venator FC Welterweight Champion, Marvin Vettori.
The faceoff was supposed to happen on 11th June in Singapore Indoor Stadium. But unfortunately, Whittaker had to back off from the matchup due to his injury.
This Wednesday, the Kiwi fighter took to Twitter to ensure that he is no longer fighting for the title due to his injury. Reportedly, he got a freakish ‘abdominal injury’ in a training session which could prove fatal if he takes part in the matchup.
Sorry to say guys due to an injury I took early in the camp I’m not able to compete in June. I did everything I could to get it right but its not healing in time. All this means is that I’ll be back in the octagon a couple months later and I’ll be better than ever 👊🏽 pic.twitter.com/Q0PEtjxDfs
