Henry McKenna from Fox Sports predicted where the top NFL free agents could land, with free agency opening next Wednesday. He thinks the Pittsburgh Steelers could be a good spot for Sam Darnold. He believes Darnold is better than other quarterbacks like Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, and he could help the Steelers go far in the playoffs.

With about $53 million in cap space, the Steelers could offer Darnold a big, multi-year deal. Spotrac estimates that Darnold could get a four-year, $160 million contract, making him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks.
Why could Sam Darnold be the right QB for Pittsburgh Steelers?
The 27-year-old quarterback led the Vikings to a 14-3 record. He threw for 4,319 yards (ca. 4 km), 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions with a 66.2% completion rate. Because of this, he’s expected to get a big contract.
After struggling with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, Sam Darnold was a backup for Brock Purdy on the San Francisco 49ers in 2023. But even though he was a backup, his current form is great for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
