Lionel Messi fans have gone wild after seeing the 35-year-old’s new club, Inter Miami’s official social media, post a picture of arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo with NFL legend Tom Brady.
The 2022 World Cup-winning captain is ready for a new challenge in his life. After seeing through his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, the 35-year-old decided to join Major League Club Inter Miami CF, and soon, Miami natives can enjoy seeing arguably the greatest soccer player ever kick the ball on their home soil.
Lionel Messi expected to make his Inter Miami debut on July 21
The seven times Ballon d’Or winner is set to start a new life on American soil soon. After signing for MLS club Inter Miami CF last week, Leo is expected to make his debut in the Miami Pink Jersey on July 21 in a home game against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup. This was confirmed by Inter Miami’s managing owner, Jorge Mas, on Monday.
For the past year and a half, Mas has avoided the media to keep negotiations confidential; he now claims that he primarily communicated with Jorge Messi, Messi’s father, and agent, when he first met with the family in Barcelona in 2019.

Lionel Messi and Mas had a conversation after the deal was signed. Messi has shown an interest in the team’s sporting activities by inquiring about the squad’s future success and its chances of winning the U.S. Open Cup.
Inter Miami commented GOAT emoji on Cristiano Ronaldo and Tom Brady post
However, things might not be as smooth for the 35-year-old Argentinian as he might think. Last year, Inter Miami CF posted a picture of Messi’s archrival, Cristiano Ronaldo, together with the NFL legend, Tom Brady, captioned with two goat emojis.

Manchester United defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 on March 12, 2022, with NFL legend Tom Brady in attendance at Old Trafford. All three points for the home team were secured by a hat trick from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester United later shared a TikTok video of Tom Brady with CR7. Two goat emojis were then posted in response to the post, implying that the Inter Miami team thought the Portugal captain was the greatest of all time.
The one-year-old post has seemingly gone viral now, as it clearly indicates the Portuguese Superstar as the greatest of all time, and it has apparently triggered emotions in Messi fans as the debate between Messi and Ronaldo still drags on.
CR7 fans are now putting pressure on the debate, as they claim that even Messi’s own club recognizes his rival as the goat.
Messi won everything, there is nothing left to win. Ronaldo has to live with the fact he will never win the worldcup. And without the WC you can never be called the GOAT.

There are also claims that Lionel Messi has unfollowed Inter Miami’s official social media after seeing the goat emoji comment from the club’s official Instagram account. This is, in fact, not true at all, as the Argentinian is yet to follow his new employers.
Who is the goat, in your opinion? We’d love to hear from you, so don’t forget to comment with your opinions down below!
