The Dallas Mavericks are back in winning form against the Philadelphia 76ers after back-to-back losses, thanks to star duo Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving’s explosive 40-point haul.
The Mavericks hosted the 76ers at American Airlines Center on Thursday night and came out on top after a neck-to-neck contest that ended in favor of the host with only seven points difference. Their guard duo each contributed 40+ points, which propelled them to snatch the victory.
After the thrilling victory, the youngster Luka Doncic didn’t hesitate to admit Irving’s influence on his regained form.
What did Luka Doncic say about Kyrie Irving?
The 24-year-old went away from his sublime form after getting injured in early February, right before Kyrie’s arrival from Brooklyn. However, the duo was somewhat struggling a little together, as they couldn’t kick it off like they used to do individually.
Whatever they got out of it within a month after Doncic scored 42 points with four rebounds and 12 assists, while his partner scored 40 points with four rebounds and 12 assists; eight of these 12 assists were for Doncic to score.

Moreover, in the postgame, the Slovenian praised the 30-year-old in the first chance he got, saying, “I think offensively, we’re good. It’s just the defensive end. We’ve got to get stops. But playing with Kai is so easy. He helps me a lot.”
Previously, the eight-time all-star also revealed it could take some time, but eventually, he is ready to contribute to the team despite his notorious attitude. The welcome and love from the fans must’ve touched him, making him the appropriate and experienced leader.
With this feat, the duo became the fifth in the NBA’s history to score 40 points each and the first for the Mavericks. In my personal opinion, this is just a start. There are more where that came from for the upcoming fixture.
