Is Mercedes Mone making AEW debut at Full Gear? Exploring the possibilities after former WWE star’s hint

Mercedes Mone fought Willow Nightingale for the NJPW Women’s Championship at NJPW STRONG Resurgence, where she injured her ankle. This setback temporarily halted her post-WWE career, although she hasn’t been entirely inactive in pro wrestling.

AEW’s annual Full Gear pay-per-view will take place at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on November 18, 2023. The sole confirmed match is MJF vs. Jay White, with MJF defending his World Heavyweight Title. However, if her schedule allows, former WWE Superstar Sasha Banks may make an appearance at the event.

Mercedes Mone name-drops AEW on IG

Mercedes Mone put in a lot of hard effort to make a reputation for herself as a top female pro wrestler, and she was rewarded with contracts with NJPW and STARDOM in Japan. Due to a fractured ankle, she has been sidelined, but today she’s seen wearing a medical boot to signify her rehabilitation progress. According to a recent podcast, Mercedes Mone, who’s been out of action for four months, is doing well after surgery and may soon return to professional wrestling.

Injured Mercedes Mone was seen in a crowd at the 2023 AEW All-In PPV. Once she is well enough to wrestle again, she will reportedly begin working with AEW. In an Instagram live stream, Mercedes hinted at a possible appearance at the AEW Full Gear PPV on November 18th in Inglewood, CA, saying she might debut in the event.

She said, “When is that? I don’t know, I’ve got to ask my friend. A little A-E-Dub, it’s coming here to LA, I guess. Sure, if I’m free. I gotta see, I gotta check the schedule, I know we’re really busy. We’re doing a lot of things. Traveling a lot.”

Mone appeared at AEWAll In in London

After making headlines by quitting WWE last year, Sasha Banks has been a dedicated fan of AEW ever since. She was there for the show at Wembley Stadium. The former IWGP Women’s Champion teased her possible attendance at “AEW All In” in August by posting photos of herself near the London Eye Ferris Wheel.

Mone was there, reportedly, for the event or to meet other wrestlers as a wrestling fan. At that time, the only match scheduled for ladies was Hikaru Shida defending her AEW Women’s World Title against Saraya, Toni Storm, and Dr. Britt Baker DMD.
