Brittney Griner, One of the most celebrated players of WNBA , is currently counting her days until getting freedom from the Russian prison. She was arrested at the airport for carrying cannabis. But the tension is getting intense among the fans and well wisher as she is being taken to Russian penal colony after spending almost a year in prison.
The WNBA legend Breana Stewart came forward and raised her voice against the imprisonment of Brittney. The former All-Star team captain took to Twitter to urge the President to make his move. She said: “It has been 267 days since our friend, Brittney Griner, has been wrongfully detained in Russia. It is time for her to come home. We are paying attention and we are counting on you. #WeAreBG”

A prisoner swap was discussed by Biden and US officials. But Russia rejected the conditions. There is a reputation for brutality in the Russian correctional colonies. Captives are forced to perform arduous labor in a hostile environment. Many people have expressed their worries about the 31-year-old Griner. Stewart’s worries are also legitimate.
Griner’s fight has now lasted more than 250 days. Despite her admission of guilt, the Russian court did not lessen her sentence. Joe Biden was furious even calling her punishment unfair.
