The Memphis Grizzlies’ notorious star Ja Morant finally made his comeback to the court for the first time following the suspension on March 22. Last night the 23-year-old was included in the starting lineup in the game against the Atlanta Hawks.
Previously, the Grizzlies point guard appeared inappropriately on Instagram Live while brandishing a firearm in a strip club and was handed an eight-game suspension by the NBA. The law enforcement agencies later investigated the matter and did not find any proof of actual malicious activity.
It was a general inquiry into Ja’s comeback and his performance in light of his recent activities and struggles, but he astonished the fans with his brilliance indeed.
How good was Ja Morant last night?
The Grizzlies visited State Farm Arena last night to face the Hawks with the 23-year-old on the starting roster. Despite demonstrating his ability in the previous two games, fans were concerned about how he would handle the pressure of starting.
He answered the fans pretty smoothly, and it seemed he picked up right where he left off before the suspension. He scored 27 points with three rebounds and five assists, which helped him win the game with a 123-119 scoreline.
The Grizzlies faced a strong challenge from the host team in the fourth quarter, but the 7-point lead in the first quarter came as a blessing for the visiting team. Besides the PG, Grizzlies shooting guard Desmond Bane scored 25 points, and Hawks guard Trae Young scored 28 points.
With this win, the Grizzlies went up to second place in the Western Conference with a six-game winning streak. They lost only one of their last 10 games and are cruising to yet another lengthy winning stretch this season.

After the game, Morant was seen signing his jersey to the Grammy-winning local rapper Lil Baby, which earned a cheer from the Hawks fans as well.

Upon his return, the 6 foot 2 youngster scored on average 20.7 points with three rebounds and six assists per game, which should be appreciated by the fans especially after returning from a rehab program in Florida following the nightclub incident. The fans are hoping for another spectacular performance in the game against Orlando Magic on Tuesday.
