Jadon Sancho, the English international and Manchester United winger has been barred from first-team training and facilities following his prolonged suspension handed down by the club due to his altercation with manager Eric Ten Hag.
The club decided after Sancho refused to apologize for his social media post, where he criticized Ten Hag’s comments on his absence from the squad. Reports have emerged that the 23-year-old has been removed from the club’s messaging group on WhatsApp.
Sancho reportedly kicked out of United’s WhatsApp group
Jadon Sancho, the talented British footballer, made his move to the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund in a hefty £73 million deal back in 2021. Unfortunately, his performance at Old Trafford has left much to be desired.
The fallout between the player and the manager began in early September when Sancho was left out of the club squad for Manchester United’s 3-1 loss against Arsenal on September 3rd. Ten Hag cited his underperformance in training as the reason for his omission. Later, the player criticized the manager in a social media post.
Although the former Dortmund star deleted the alleged post against the manager, dismissing his reason. The club asked the winger to publicly issue an apology for his actions, but the 23-year-old refused to do so. As a result, he was suspended by the club from first-team action, which includes training, dining, and using the club facilities designated for the senior team, until further notice.
Since then, he has remained out of the team. When asked about Sancho’s situation, the Dutch boss has refused to comment on the circumstances on many occasions, making it evident that Sancho’s future at Old Trafford is bleak. Now, Sancho has been removed from the Manchester United WhatsApp group, where first-team players used to receive information and interact with each other alongside other staff.
Potential Sancho replacements for United
Jadon Sancho’s future at the club appears to be over as the time is running out for him at Manchester United. With no possibility of returning to the squad after being barred from all senior team facilities, an early exit in the upcoming January transfer window, either on loan or through a permanent deal, seems imminent.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils are likely to replace the English international with Wolves’ star winger Pedro, which seems to be the best option. The Portuguese player has been a key contributor for Wolves, with 8 goal contributions in 10 Premier League starts this season. Arsenal has also shown interest in Pedro, so United needs to compete against the Gunners to sign him.
