NFL quarterback Trevor Lawrence shared his thoughts on star wide receiver Calvin Ridley, the new addition to their roster, as holds nothing but praise for the former Atlanta Falcons’ veteran player.
Ridley caught 90 passes for a career-high 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns in 2020 while catching 31 passes for 281 yards, and two touchdowns in 2021.
Following the 2021 season, the former five-star recruit out of Pompano Beach Monarch High got suspended by the league without pay through at least the 2022 season due to being involved in betting on NFL games, leading the Falcons to trade him to the Jaguars in November 2022 for two conditional draft choices.
The receiver expressed his despair following the incident in an open letter published in The Players Tribune.
“I f—-d up.I’m not here to sugarcoat anything. In 2021, I made the worst mistake of my life by gambling on football. I paid the price, believe me. All I want is for people to understand that, when I made those bets, there was a hell of a lot more going on with me”, he wrote.
What did Trevor Lawrence say about the Jaguars’ new quarterback Calvin Ridley?
The Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence had high praises for the former first-rounder Calvin Ridley as he opened up to the reporters on Wednesday, saying Ridley has arrived with the “right attitude” on the football field.
“He’s hungry. He’s excited to be here. He’s got the right attitude — I think that’s the biggest thing that I’ve noticed”, he said.

Lawrence gushed about Ridley’s strong arm and athleticism citing,”He’s a freak, just the way he runs routes, how explosive he is. Great hands. It seems like he’s picking stuff up — obviously just started — but it seems like he’s picking it up pretty quickly”.
The 23-year-old expressed his excitement to welcome their member on the squad citing the Jaguars team also assist new players of the franchise to gel with their new destination.
“He’s been great. I’m just excited to have him be a part of our room. It seems like he’s really gelling with the guys great. It’s not the hargest group to gel with. Christian (Kirk), Zay (Jones) and all those guys are awesome. I think they treat guys well, and they’ve kind of brought him in. It’s going really well. He seems super hungry and ready to go”, Lawrence added.
After earning All-Pro honors in 2020 during a breakout 90-reception, approximately 1,400-yard season, Ridley inked his name as one of the most elite wide receivers of the NFL, albeit the unfortunate controversy overshadowed all of his previous records, however, the former Alabama Crimson Tide star seemed ready to bounce back strongly on the field.
The Jaguars have high hopes for the season ahead, and with players like Lawrence and Ridley leading the charge, fans are eager to see what the team can accomplish.
