Jan Blachowicz, the former light heavyweight champion, is keen on a rematch with Israel Adesanya, but this time in the middleweight division. Adesanya recently regained his middleweight title by knocking out Alex Pereira in the main event of UFC 287.

Blachowicz, who defeated Adesanya at UFC 259, was quick to issue a challenge to his former opponent. Although Jan has lost his light heavyweight title, he is determined to claim Adesanya’s 185-pound belt.
Jan is yet to compete in the middleweight division, but he is confident that he can make the weight. His victory over Israel was Adesanya’s first career loss in the UFC, and Blachowicz wants to replicate that success at middleweight.
Israel had aimed to become a two-weight champion by winning the light-heavyweight title, but Jan thwarted his plans. Now, Blachowicz wants to prove that his victory over Adesanya was no fluke and that he can dominate him in a different weight class.

A rematch between the two fighters would undoubtedly be a highly anticipated bout.
“People need to believe a little bit more in me,” Blachowicz said in an interview on “The Craic with Peter Carroll.” “And if UFC would like to make this fight, I will do it, no problem. I know how to do it. That will be great motivation for me, a big motivation, you know, to beat him another one, another time. So yeah, why not? I’m ready to do that.”
He continued, “I find a way how to do it. And then, of course, how to do it and be in very good shape in the fight. If I wasn’t, I will not say that. But of course, I need a little bit more time. They have to give me like three, four months. Yes, 205 is easy for me. Three weeks like this, you know, but 84 (kgs), yeah, three months. For sure.”
