Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the first wide receiver to be drafted this offseason. Seattle Seahawks drafted the rookie WR to strengthen their already strong roster. However, recently during a preseason game, he got badly injured. The regular season hasn’t started yet and Smith-Njigba is already injured.

The recent update about his injury has left fans wondering whether the wide receiver be able to play in the regular season or not. Let’s find out the details of his injury and recent update which has endangered the rookie WR’s career.

Seahawks HC offers sad update on Jaxon Smith-Njigba wrist injury

During this season’s preseason games, a lot of players got injured. Many players of the Seahawks team are also injured. The head coach of the team recently updated about their health conditions including the wrist injury of Jaxon Smith-Njigba. 

The HC shared that Smith-Njigba’s wrist is broken for which he’ll have to undergo surgery. He informed that the wide receiver would take three to four weeks to recover which means the 21-year-old will not be participating in the upcoming preseason games.

But there is still hope for him. If he recovers soon, he can join his team in the regular season which starts next month. The Seahawks have their first regular season game scheduled on 10 September against the Los Angeles Rams. We hope the wide receiver makes it to the regular season games.

But only his surgery will determine whether he’ll be able to play that soon or not. Although a rookie wide receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba impressed everyone with his incredible performance during the training camp and the preseason games.

He made six catches for 73 yards in the two preseason games he had played in. The team had great expectations from him. But this sudden injury has put the career of the wide receiver in question. Seattle can survive without him, but his presence would have done wonders for the team.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba injured his wrist during a preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys. He was tackled before the goal line and during that, his wrist got injured. He was seen clenching his left wrist and went for the examination.

Later, it was revealed that his wrist was broken, and he’d have to undergo surgery. If the surgery doesn’t go well, the wide receiver will have to miss Week 1 of the regular season. 

But there is still hope that the WR might recover soon and join his team. We hope Jaxon Smith-Njigba recovers soon and gets a chance to play in the regular season. He has worked a lot for it and already proved that he deserves it in the preseason games. No injury should become a hurdle on his way to success.
