Jaylen Brown Playfully Dismisses Reporter’s Question About Team USA Snub

The Boston Celtics started the 2024-25 NBA season with their media day on Tuesday. Even though they retained the majority of their players and were the reigning champs, the squad had a noisy off-season.

Moreover, Jaylen Brown was a hot topic after being snubbed from Team USA. When a reporter brought up the controversy, his humorous reply was definitely a standout moment.

Reporters were talking about Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum’s problems at the Olympics, especially with Nike. Brown was just starting to relax when a reporter asked him why he didn’t make Team USA.

His funny response was quick: “Damn, question number one? Can’t warm up a little? S–t.” His response was lighthearted, but he’s not typically known for being fun.

His bold personality shone through during his recent brand launch. Many would be surprised to learn the amount he turned down to start his own brand.

Jaylen Brown rejects $50 Million to start his own brand

Brown made a bold choice to reject over $50 million in sponsorship offers in order to start his own performance brand, 741. His shoe line will come out on October 22, the same day that the NBA season starts.

The company’s press release revealed that he declined over $50 million in endorsement deals from other prominent sneaker companies to seek full ownership and creative control of his own brand.

The brand’s name is important. The number seven stands for being smart and understanding. The number four means working hard and being steady. The number one represents starting fresh and being creative.
