Jaylen Brown Refuses To Back Down From Nike’s Political Pressure, Even If It Means Missing Another Olympics

Following his NBA championship win and MVP award last season, Jaylen Brown continues to garner attention. Despite that, he wasn’t chosen for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which he thinks is because of a problem with Nike. Recently, Brown again said he won’t give in to Nike’s pressure, even if it means missing the Olympics again.

Brown, who has been vocal about his stance against the sportswear giant, recently reiterated his position during an interview on “The Stephen A. Smith Show.” On the show, Jaylen Brown, being fully Jaylen, openly criticized the $121 billion sports giant Nike.

When asked about missing the 2024 Olympics, Brown made it clear he wasn’t pleased with Nike’s influence on Team USA selections. He firmly stated that he won’t sign with the brand just to improve his chances for the 2028 Olympics.

He said, “If signing with Nike is what it takes for me to improve my odds of representing USA basketball in 2028, then I’ll happily decline that offer. Currently, it feels like youngsters are being pressured into making choices that overshadow the true essence of basketball, while the global game in Europe continues to close the gap on us.”

Jaylen Brown’s strong stance against Nike has raised questions about how it might affect his career. However, Brown remains adamant of staying true to his values and beliefs.

Jaylen Brown throws a huge birthday celebration

NBA Finals MVP and Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown celebrated his birthday in style with a star-studded season kickoff party. The event, held at Boston’s premier venue, The State Room, marked the start of the highly anticipated 2024/25 Celtics season.

The night was filled with electric performances, featuring music duo SuperSmashBroz, guest DJ Metro Boomin, and live acts by Lloyd, FERG, Kodak Black, and Lil Baby.

A highlight was when Jaylen joined FERG on stage for a special performance of their hit single, “Just Do It.” Kodak Black surprised Jaylen with a lavish birthday gift—a set of 20 custom Cartier glasses and a Goyard bag, adding a personal touch to the celebration.

Star power dominated the event, with appearances from Celtics teammates Jayson Tatum and Derrick White, Coach Joe Mazzulla, and leadership figures like Brad Stevens and Wyc Grousbeck.
