Jayson Tatum Shares Emotional Tribute To Late Grandmother

Growing up as a teenage parent is tough, especially without support. Jayson Tatum experienced this firsthand. His mother, Brandy Cole, gave birth to him when he was just 18 years old, and they both faced many challenges on their journey to his current stardom.

Thankfully, Tatum’s grandma was there to lend a hand whenever she could. Unfortunately, she is no longer with Taum.

It has been a whirlwind year for Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum. In just 12 months, the 26-year-old went from MVP candidate to NBA champion and Olympic gold medalist. However, he faced heartbreak off the court with the loss of his grandmother.

On Monday, Tatum shared the sad news on his Instagram story with picture of his grandmother, noting, “Rest up Grandma.”

As Tatum gears up for the NBA season, he holds his grandmother’s memory close. The Celtics’ first game against the New York Knicks on October 22 will be especially meaningful for him as he honors her on the court.

Charles Barkley Discusses Jayson Tatum’s Team USA Snub

Charles Barkley, a former NBA star, cautions the Boston Celtics about the fire within their stars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, following their exclusion from the U.S. Olympic team. Barkley believes this snub has fuelled their motivation for the 2024-2025 season.

On the Throwbacks podcast, Barkley said, “I’m like, how in the world did we piss off the champs?”“If I’m Tatum and Brown. I’m coming for the NBA, right? Y’all totally disrespected us this summer… I’m expecting Tatum and Brown to send the NBA a message, man.””
