Immediately after scoring a crucial three-pointer, Jayson Tatum slurred “Yeah Motherf****s” at the roaring crowd during game two between the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics.
One of the most highly anticipated games of the NBA playoffs this season is the Boston Celtics taking on the Brooklyn Nets. With the Celtics heading into game two with a 1-0 lead, victory for the Nets was absolutely crucial. The Nets started well and had a decent lead at half-time.
But things started to go south soon after as by the end of the third quarter, their ten-point lead was cut into half. Everything capitulated in the fourth and final quarter where the Celtics scored twelve more points (29-17) than the nets.
Despite the fact that a comeback appeared difficult at first, the Celtics showed incredible commitment and battled through the third and fourth quarters to earn a critical victory in the series. The final score of 114-107 may be misleading in that it does not reflect the Celtics’ determination to turn the game around.
One of the stars of the show was Celtics ace, Jayson Tatum. Tatum scored the winner at the buzzer in the first game of the series. He scored 19 points and had 10 assists, and even though he wasn’t the leader in the scoring charts for Boston this time around, he still had a thing or two to say about how the match would go.
Tatum turned to the cheering fans after making a critical three-pointer in the second final minute of the fourth quarter and yelled, “Yeah Motherf****s!” Tatum’s explosion reflected the tenacity with which the Celtics had to fight their way back in game two. Even if game three won’t be any easier, the Celtics know that they can’t be counted out in the face of immense hardship.
As for the Nets, they have their work cut out for them, and will hope that they do not slip up again in the coming games.
