Aaron Rodgers surprised the NFL world when he decided to leave his longtime team, the Green Bay Packers, and move to the New York Jets. But, unfortunately, the QB had to miss the entire season because of injury.
As the 2024 season approaches, Rodgers has another surprise for fans. As surprising as it sounds the QB is expected to run for the presidency of the United States.
Jets dislike VP rumors involving Aaron Rodgers
The NFL world is in shock as rumors spread that Robert F. Kennedy will name Aaron Rodgers as his running mate on an independent ticket for the United States presidency. Kennedy is set to announce his selection on March 26, with Rodgers and former Minnesota Vikings governor Jesse Ventura being his top choices.
While the New York Jets have yet to comment on this recent news, a source revealed that the team doesn’t believe Rodgers will accept the offer. Aaron Rodgers has not commented about it yet. But his teammate Sauce Gardner talked about it, tweeting, “Ohhhh, Aaron bouta become the VP.. That’s why he ain’t been answering my text messages.”
Indeed, there could be several other reasons for Aaron Rodgers not to accept this offer. It remains uncertain whether he will agree to it. Given the demanding schedule of an NFL player, it would be challenging for him to conduct proper campaigns while fulfilling his football commitments.
Additionally, leaving the NFL would entail forfeiting $37.5 million in salary. Thus, it appears that the Jets’ skepticism about Aaron Rodgers accepting the offer is justified. However, considering the unpredictable nature of Aaron Rodgers’s decisions, anything is possible.
Aaron Rodgers spits out controversial remarks
Aaron Rodgers couldn’t play last year because of a season-ending injury. During this time his focus was on his recovery and his podcasts. The QB has become famous for sharing controversial remarks about everything on the podcasts.
He is known to create a conspiracy theory about almost every event. For instance, Aaron Rodgers discussed a conspiracy theory about immigrants joining the military to gain citizenship and potentially turn against Americans.
“How bout when [Weinstein] is talking about the two different migration groups, right?” asked Rodgers.
“You have the Spanish-speaking group and you have the Chinese group. And he’s talking about the scary thing, which I actually thought about for years. I said, no American-loving soldier is going to turn on their people, right? But who would turn on their people?”
He expressed concern about a bill offering citizenship for military service.
“And he mentioned that… on the podcast. What happens if they offer citizenship for military service? That’s a fucking scary thought. And what bill was just brought into the Congress, I believe yesterday, the day before? That exact type of bill offering citizenship for immigrants.”
Aaron Rodgers also had a conspiracy theory about the COVID-19 Vaccine which he called “experimental gene therapy” that alters DNA. He criticized the use of the term “vaccine,” suggesting it creates a stigma for questioning its efficacy.
The QB mentioned concerns about the financial gains of pharmaceutical companies and alleged adverse effects of the vaccine.
“They shut the country down. The largest transfer of wealth ever. These pharma companies made billions and billions and billions of dollars for an experimental gene therapy that changes your DNA. That you have bizarre extra death numbers going on.”
These controversial remarks of Aaron Rodgers show that he lacks awareness of his own ignorance and is selective in his skepticism. There are several other conspiracy theories created by the QB so far.
However, his comments are harmless, and some fans just take them as a source of entertainment. For now, the focus is on whether Rodgers will run for presidency or prefer his NFL career.
