Jets WR Davante Adams Names 3 NFL Teams He’d Prefer to Play for in Future

Davante Adams is a top NFL wide receiver who plays for the New York Jets. He joined the team in 2024 to help their offense. However, he has now shared that if the Jets let him go, he would like to join one of three other NFL teams.

Davante Adams signed a five-year, $140 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022. When he was traded to the New York Jets in October 2024, they took over the rest of his contract. He is set to earn $84.09 million over the next two and a half seasons.

However, trades can always happen due to salary cap issues or team roster needs. Adams already has three teams in mind for a potential trade.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, he is interested in playing on the West Coast and would like to join the Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, or San Francisco 49ers.

Jeremy Fowler said, “A source told me Adams is intrigued by a return to the West Coast and would be open to potentially joining teams such as the Rams or Chargers — if he gets released. I would put the 49ers in the conversation, too. Adams grew up in Northern California.”

Is Davante Adams heading for a possible trade?

Despite Davante Adams’ efforts and contributions to the team, the New York Jets had a disappointing season, finishing with a record of 5 wins and 12 losses, which can create a possible trade situation in the near future.

Moreover, Davante Adams’ contract has a “cap hit” of $38.3 million for the 2025 season. Because Adams’ cap hit is so large, it may be difficult for the Jets to afford him under the salary cap, especially if they want to sign other players to improve the team.

This financial challenge makes it unlikely that the Jets will keep Adams on the roster for the 2025 season without restructuring his contract or finding another way to reduce the cap hit.
