Jimmy Butler hilariously crushes Jayson Tatum rivalry notion: “You completely just made that up”

Jimmy Butler is one of the most hilarious, entertaining and outspoken players in the NBA. He made everyone laugh during the media day with his new emo look which has now become the internet’s latest obsession.

Butler has worked hard on improving his game over the years and has played a major role in making the Miami Heat a formidable opponent for the rest of the NBA. Even the Boston Celtics led by Jason Tatum had found it difficult to try to win against the Miami Heat in the last playoffs, leading fans to believe there is a fierce rivalry ongoing between the two.

Jimmy Butler reacts to Jayson Tatum’s rivalry talk

Jimmy Butler and Jason Tatum have nothing but respect for each other. Both of them have an insane work ethic and are two of the best players in today’s NBA. Jimmy and Jason clashed in the 2023 NBA playoffs where the Celtics lost to the Heat.

Jimmy Butler doesn’t see his rivalry with Tatum on the same level as the likes of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, as often dubbed by fans. While catching up with Sports Illustrated, he shot down the comparison, saying “First of all, I don’t hear anybody talking about me vs Tatum. You completely just made that up.”

Butler’s hilarious response was true, because his rivalry with Jayson Tatum is really not as big as that of between LeBron James and Michael Jordan or between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. In fact, Jimmy appeared shocked by such high comparisons. Jimmy, who is slowly climbing up the ladder and becoming one of the NBA’s best and most favorite players, was shocked by the comparison because of his humble nature. But to be honest, Jimmy Buckets has the capability of leading his team to a championship victory and become a threat to all the other NBA teams.

Butler not trading coffee for NBA Championship

Outside of basketball, Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler’s greatest passion is his love for coffee. Sports Illustrated’s Rohan Nadkarni recently asked Butler if he would be willing to give up coffee for a year in exchange for an NBA title. Butler responded, “Hell no.”

Jimmy has a deep and true love for coffee which led him to start  his own coffee business during the Bubble. He started selling coffee from his hotel room for $20 a cup to fellow NBA players. He brewed the coffee with the espresso machine he had brought to use in his Orlando hotel room.

“From when the [NBA] bubble started I wanted to be the best barista,” Butler said. “Now Bigface Brand, Bigface coffee is a real thing, and I’m just trying to get the best coffee and the best experience out to the world.” Butler’s competitive spirit is one of the many things that make him great.
