Jinder Mahal Calls Out WWE’s Lack Of South Asian Talent In 2024

Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal recently spoke out on social media, criticizing WWE for not having enough South Asian talent on its current roster. WWE has already faced backlash for lacking representation of African American wrestlers in its PLE events, and now Jinder’s latest tweets have added more attention to the issue.

To address the shortage of South Asian talent in the WWE, former WWE Superstar Jinder Mahal recently took to social media to report on the company’s awareness of the lack of representation for black male wrestlers in 2024. He posted this on Twitter:

“There is only one South Asian currently in WWE (@SunnyDhinsa). With over 2 Billion population, 1/4 people in the world are South Asian. Not a single talent in NXT/Performance Center. This is an issue. I’ve had my time. Here are 3 talents WWE could sign – @MustafaAli_X @RealRohanRaja @BollywoodBoyz”

Jinder Mahal, now known as Raj Dhesi, left WWE in April 2023 because of TKO pay cuts. The WWE first let him go in 2014, but he returned in 2016. He got healthier and won his first world title by beating Randy Orton in 2017. After that, he didn’t perform as much.

Recently, during an episode of “Talk is Jericho,” Dhesi revealed that WWE informed him that he was no longer an active wrestler. revealed a bombshell about WWE retirement plans. He said, “So the last two years, I wasn’t doing much. I was managing Indus Sher. In a way, they had retired me. They told me I wasn’t an active wrestler anymore, which was kind of weird.” (h/t to WrestlingNews.co)

He added, “I think maybe they just wanted the focus to be on Indus Sher… I get it. Things change. That’s how my career has always been.”
