Joe Joyce targets Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk for next summer showdown

The Boxing world probably witnessed one of the most legendary scenes in recent history when following his victory against Derek Chisora, Tyson Fury had a 3-way faceoff with Oleksandr Usyk and Joe Joyce. Turns out, that faceoff might end in some spectacular bouts.

Joseph Obey Joyce a.k.a Joe ‘Juggernaut’ Joyce is one of the biggest names in boxing right now. He won 14 of his 15 professional bouts via KO/TKO, with only one victory coming via unanimous decision. Now Joyce seems ready to take on the best of the best.

Joe won his last fight against Joseph Parker in Manchester on the 24th of September, 2022. Joyce is the current holder of the ‘Interim’ title in WBO which gives him a mandatory bout for the belt currently held by the Ukrainian fighter Oleksandr Usyk.

Tyson Fury finally stopped pursuing his potential Anthony Joshua matchup, as agreement issues persisted. Joshua lost both his last matches to Usyk and Fury aims to make a statement by beating Oleksandr. That fight is scheduled to happen sometime in 2023.

Joyce has history with both Tyson and Usyk albeit, under extremely different circumstances. ‘Juggernaut’ faced off against the Ukrainian in a 5-round amateur boxing match all the way back in 2013. The British lost the fight by unanimous decision.

Joe was also a training partner for ‘the Gypsy King’ in Fury’s overweight phase when the British fighter was training for a comeback. Before the Deontey Wilder fight, Tyson trained in California where Joyce helped him prepare.

Before the big fight finally happens, the interim champ aims to have a fight around March against an opponent with a Southpaw stance as both his targeted opponents either fight in or switch to that stance. Joe dislikes the concept of staying inactive and is ready to even fight Joshua.
