John Cena is close to retiring, with only one year left in his wrestling career. Fans are disappointed as they had high expectations for him to become a 17-time WWE champion, but it seems likely that he will end up tied with Rick Flair.
With his busy Hollywood schedule and age, it’s a tough choice for him. However, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler recently said he thinks Cena shouldn’t retire just yet.

Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler, however, thinks Cenation Leader should keep his options open. While talking to Bill Apter of Sportskeeda, Lawler said Cena shouldn’t use the word “retire.”
He said, “I don’t think anybody should ever retire,” began Lawler. “There’s too many things that you can do without ever using the word ‘retire.’ I use that when I hear about somebody retiring, I look for them to die pretty soon. I would never say that he’s going to retire.”
John Cena will have his last match in just over a year, ending his wrestling career. He said he won’t be active in WWE after 2026 and announced 36 appearances before retiring.

WWE legend John Cena has announced that he will retire from professional wrestling at the end of 2025. Cena, who has been a dominant force in WWE for over two decades, announced the “Money in the Bank” event in Toronto.
The 47-year-old is set to take part in 36 events in 2025, such as WrestleMania 41, the Royal Rumble, and the Elimination Chamber. He’ll also appear on Netflix’s first Raw, planning to retire by the end of 2025.
