John Terry reveals explosive confrontation during Jose Mourinho’s second managerial spell at Chelsea: “Told me to f**k off”

Jose Mourinho, the Portuguese tactician widely regarded as the ‘special one,’ earned this title during his first spell at Stamford Bridge while managing Chelsea in 2004. During this period, the club underwent an ownership takeover by the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, transforming it into an elite team, with Jose playing a key role in this transformation.

Mourinho had a successful first spell with the Blues and returned for his second tenure at Chelsea, which was comparatively less glorious than his first. John Terry, the former Chelsea captain, has made shocking revelations regarding Mourinho’s second tenure.

John Terry exposes Mourinho’s ruthlessness

Jose Mourinho who is being linked with a possible career in the Saudi Pro League for the coming season, is undoubtedly one of the best head coaches in the modern generation. Similar instances occurred with the former English international center-back John Terry during the training sessions in Mourinho’s second tenure with the club before the start of the 2015/16 season. Terry had played under Mourinho on two occasions, winning three Premier League titles.

The defender recalled the moments in a recent podcast, claiming the two senior figures of the blues lashed out by the boss for underperforming in a drill were none other than the defensive duo of Terry and Gary Cahill who were also the captain and vice-captain respectively.

Chelsea had just lifted the Premier League title and both Terry and Cahill were instrumental in the campaign leading from the back.

The former Chelsea captain revealed, “I’m the captain and Gaz is vice-captain, we’d just won the league the year before and he goes ‘You two, you can f**k off. I’ll go and sign Varane and another top defender in the world for £ 100 million and you two can sit on the bench and watch them”.

When did Mourinho join Chelsea for second stint?

Jose Mourinho first arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2004 after a historic Champions League triumph with the Portuguese club Porto, for which he was awarded the best coach title due to his achievements in the previous season. The 52-year-old served the West London club from 2004 to 2007 and then went on to join Inter Milan, leading them to a treble-winning season.

Before making an emotional return to Chelsea for his second spell in 2013, Mourinho managed the Spanish giants Real Madrid. During his second spell, he guided them to the Premier League title and the English League Cup in the 2014/15 season.
