Dana White, the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has given an update on the highly-anticipated return of Jon Jones to the Octagon this summer.
Unfortunately, White’s comments were rather bleak, as he revealed that the newly crowned undisputed heavyweight champion has gone missing since his last fight.
Jones returned to the Octagon in March after a three-year-plus hiatus. He headlined UFC 285 in a vacant heavyweight title fight against the former interim champion, Ciryl Gane.
He impressively submitted the Frenchman in the first round with a dominant guillotine choke. Becoming a two-weight champion in the UFC.
Since then, Jones has been linked to a return at UFC 290 during International Fight Week in July. He expressed interest in defending his heavyweight title against former two-time division champion, Stipe Miocic.
In what could be a blockbuster summer fight. However, White’s recent comments about Jones’ disappearance have cast doubts over whether that fight will take place. UFC fans will be eagerly awaiting any further updates on the situation.

This comes after Jones made a triumphant return in March at UFC 285. Where he submitted Ciryl Gane with a first-round guillotine choke to claim the vacant heavyweight title.
Dana said, “Jon Jones came out, made quick work, and poof – disappeared,” “He is ready to fight – he wants Stipe (Miocic). So, we will get it figured out.”
The UFC was reportedly in the process of scheduling a featherweight championship unification fight between Alexander Volkanovski and interim champion Yair Rodríguez for UFC 290 during International Fight Week.
Meanwhile, former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has been out of action since March 2021. Suffered a second-round knockout loss to Francis in their rematch at the UFC Apex facility.
Jon, who won the heavyweight crown against Gane last month, caused concern among fans when he posted and deleted several cryptic tweets on his official Twitter account.
