Asuka, aka The Empress of Tomorrow, won the WWE RAW Women’s championship at the Night of Champions in May against Bianca Belair. Later on, in an episode of WWE Smackdown, Asuka exchanged her WWE RAW Women’s Title with the new WWE Women’s Title.
While Bianca Belair and The Empress of Tomorrow were having a rematch, Miss Flair returned and challenged Asuka to a title match. She got her match after a few weeks, but the match ended in havoc when Bayley, IYO SKY, and Bianca Belair got involved. this whole incident has led Asuka, Charlotte Flair, and Bianca Belair to a triple-threat match at SummerSlam 2023.
Asuka loses Women’s title to Bianca Belair at SummerSlam
On WWE SmackDown, the Women’s Championship has three contenders, and all of them deserve to be champions. On the SummerSlam tonight, Asuka, Bianca Belair, and Charlotte Flair were inside the ring for getting their hands on the WWE Women’s championship title. These three superstars showed why they are some of the very best on the roster.
The bout between these superstars had a very clean start. It looks like WWE had a grand plan for the, but there were some fiascos in the ring. At one point in the match, Bianca Belair got hurt. Charlotte Flair was throwing kicks left and right at Asuka while Bianca was outside the ring due to a knee injury that she got due to a hard landing during the match.

Belair was being taken out of the arena by the medical team of WWE while the match was still going. But she fought her way back to the ring and delivered a huge 450 splash onto Charlotte Flair. While Asuka was trapped by Charlotte, within a few seconds Asuka sprayed Flair with her poison mist and Belair was able to roll up Asuka. These led Bianca Belair to win the WWE Women’s Championship title.
But as soon as the match ended, IYO SKY raced to the ring with Bayley and her MITB briefcase. SKY hit Belair with the briefcase. While Bayley took out Asuka and Flair. After successfully delivering one moonsault IYO SKY pinned Belair and became the champion.

After the loss at SummerSlam 2023, Asuka posted on her Twitter account which got the fans concerned. Asuka has been with WWE for a long time now and she is one of the major stars of the roster.

The former WWE Women’s champion might be indicating that her time is near the end in WWE. Fans have expressed that they don’t want her to leave the ring yet on Twitter. Previously when Asuka lost at Wrestlemania she tweeted that she might return to Japan. But still, there have been no solid reports regarding her retirement. Therefore, for the time being, it’s just a speculation of fans.
