Keenan Allen says rookie Quentin Johnston has a lot to learn before NFL 2023
The Chargers WR Keenan Allen voiced his words for the team’s promising rookie following the OTA session, saying he believes Johnston still has a lot to learn ahead of the 2023 season as he might not be acquainted with some football terminologies.
“He’s a phenomenal athlete. Obviously, he’s having the struggles of the NFL â terminology, splits, knowing where to line up. It comes with it, it’s only three weeks in.

The 31-year-old expressed his excitement to witness Quentin explore his abilities and prove his athleticism on the field.
“His athletic ability is through the roof. I can’t wait for him to understand what’s going on and really have the confidence to line up and go play fast.”
What Kellen Moore said on Quentin Johnstonâs abilities?
The Chargers OC Kellen Moore worked with the former TCU standout during the first two weeks of the OTAs. He opened up to reporters during a press conference following the practice session and lauded the young star’s incredible athletic figure.
“Obviously, the physical component of it is really evident, just his ability to make plays. From a physical standpoint: size, height, weight, speed.”
Moore heaped on the praise for the Chargers wide receiver’s route-running abilities, speed, as well as exceptional catching skills, and undoubtedly, he is determined to grab Kellen’s playbook ahead of the practice session.
“His range catching the football, when you get out here on the field, and you start seeing him catch passes, his range is really, really tremendous. I think the other thing that we’ve, obviously, highlighted is his ability to make plays after the catch.”
“I think you can certainly see that, his suddenness, to get in and out of brakes once he catches the ball, the transitioning into a runner, I think that will be really big for him.”
As OTA sessions continue till June 6 and the regular season approaches, the Chargers WR and OC’s endorsement of this new addition will be great weapons for quarterback Justin Herbert and on the other hand has already ignited a sense of optimism among the team’s fans, hence, they will be waiting to see how the No. 21 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft make his mark in the NFL.
