Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant has pushed back at the people who criticized him for calling himself a God following the Nets’ exit from the NBA playoffs at the hands of the Boston Celtics.
Kevin Durant is an iconic personality in the NBA. He has won multiple championships, as well as multiple individual awards. Even though he has the respect of the NBA community, KD has been severely criticized following his side’s 4-0 series defeat to the Boston Celtics. The Brooklyn Nets boast one of the strongest lineups in the NBA, and it was widely expected that they would go on to win the NBA championship this year.
But after their dismal performances against the Celtics, one player who has come under massive scrutiny is Durant. When the cast of the “Inside the NBA” called him out for his performances, KD said it was an Army of Producers vs The God- referring to himself. This has gotten him a lot of stick from people, especially because he was saying these things right after his side got dumped out of the playoffs. But KD has gone on to defend himself on Twitter, saying it’s just “good affirmations”.
I don’t get why you guys are so mad at what I call myself. It’s about good affirmations right? Be happy for me https://t.co/DqPhwbd8Gs

This isn’t the first time KD has referred to himself as God. He has previously done so when the Nets lost to the Bucks less than a month ago.
