“The Eagle” Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed his plan to make changes and revolutionize the sport of MMA through his own organization, Eagle Fc.
Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from fighting in 2020, but he is still a prominent figure in the world of combat sports. He is the owner of Eagle Fc, an MMA promotion company. Khabib wants to bring different things into the world of the sport.
He has already taken quite a few revolutionary steps in doing so, namely introducing the 165 lbs “super lightweight” division. A bout has already taken place in the newly created division between UFC veterans Kevin Lee and Diego Sanchez, which the former won.
Khabib brought the previously named Gorilla Fc and renamed and re-marketed it. His roster still consists mostly of young Russian-born fighters and aging veterans from all around the world.
The lineup includes the likes of the aforementioned Diego Sanchez and Kevin Lee. Along with other UFC veterans such as Junior Dos Santos, and Rashad Evans.
Recently there have been talks of Eagle Fc and Bellator MMA doing a cross-promotional fight, This is a revolutionary move that will see two major promotions put shows together.
These changes are very different from what the UFC is offering to the fans and the MMA community. With Khabib at the helm, Eagle Fc is already gaining momentum and has started hosting events in the US alongside Russia.
