The much-anticipated sparring session between YouTube sensations KSI and IShowSpeed, took place on December 16. IShowSpeed put forth a great effort in the face of KSI, a more experienced boxer. But throughout the charity sparring session, KSI, asserted dominance, making the experience gap clear.
The London exhibition match went beyond the usual competitive nature of these kinds of gatherings. It gained a commendable sense of purpose when it assumed a charitable aspect, with the goal of raising money for the Anthony Walker Foundation.
KSI mocks IShowSpeed
Before Speed hit the SIDEMEN star in the body, KSI and IShowSpeed were circling each other at the start of the fight. KSI’s expertise in the squared circle, however, quickly took control and appeared to be too much for IShowSpeed to handle. Despite hitting KSI with some powerful blows, he was knocked down to the canvas by a body shot from KSI.
As the rounds went on, it was clear that KSI’s experience and advantage in size were powerful tools. IShowSpeed tried hardest, but the skill gap was too great to overcome. In an unexpected turn of events, IShowSpeed won the match because KSI, showing good sportsmanship, tapped out after the fourth round.
KSI, who chose not to wear a headguard, came out swinging and showboating in the second round. Pinched between the ropes, IShowSpeed tried in vain to catch his breath but was unable to make a single shot.
KSI taps out to IShowSpeed
Throughout the bout, the two continued to trade blows, with KSI appearing to ease up on the inexperienced eighteen-year-old boxer. It appeared as though IShowSpeed was in pain following a forceful body shot. But KSI allowed Speed some time to heal in the third round. He charged at Darren in the round, hitting him with a barrage of shots that did little more than distort.
Following a brief clinch, IShowSpeed attempted to hilariously flee from KSI in the fourth round before the final bell rang. Two more rounds of fighting were scheduled for them. Prior to the fifth round, KSI took a seat next to IShowSpeed, who appeared to be finished the competition. KSI sweetly tapped out while complimenting the youthful opponent’s perseverance.
IShowSpeed asked KSI to continue the fight instead of accepting KSI’s offer to end it while sobbing. He was enraged at both KSI and himself and was determined to keep fighting. Refusing to grant his request to go on, KSI left the ring. Speed was seen crying and pleading with KSI to continue after KSI exited the ring.
