Paris Saint-Germain’s sensational French attacker, Kylian Mbappe, is probably the hottest soccer star in the transfer market right now. Valued at €180 million, the 24-year-old has expressed his desire to play for his dream team. Real Madrid, on multiple occasions. Despite being heavily linked with the Spanish giants, a move hasn’t materialized just yet.
The Frenchman has entered the final year of his contract with PSG. The Ligue 1 champions have the chance to cash in heavily by selling him this summer window. However, the Parisian side is keen on keeping the recently appointed France National Team captain, and it looks like Mbappe himself wants to see out his contract as well.
French World Cup winner dismisses media fabrication with recent tweet
On Monday, news broke out that Mbappe would not be renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. In addition to this, French media outlet Le Parisien published a report on Tuesday stating that the 2018 World Cup-winning forward is seeking a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Mbappe then took to Twitter to call the report a “lie.” The tweet said, “At the same time, the bigger it is, the more it passes. I have already said that I will continue next season at PSG, where I am very happy.”

Mbappe’s impending contract expiry to reignite Madrid interest
Despite Mbappe calling the media out, he has yet to sign a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain. His current contract will run out at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, seems to have hinted that next year, Mbappe will be a free agent and could be enticed to Spain. Perez said, “Yes, but not this year,” in response to a fan who asked him on the street whether the talented 24-year-old would be acquired.
At one point in 2021, Real put forth a €220 million offer for Mbappe, but PSG rebuffed those overtures in a desperate attempt to keep their all-time leading goalscorer.
It is quite possible that Real Madrid convinces Kylian Mbappe in January to make a pre-agreement, which will see him join Los Blancos as a free agent in the 2024/25 season. That way, Real Madrid could avoid spending a huge sum of money on transfer fees, despite getting Mbappe a year later.
