Mbappe has been on Real Madrid’s radar since 2017 but the Blancos have been unsuccessful in acquiring the Frenchman so far. As the transfer saga enters its final chapter, it seems that Mbappe might need to take a salary cut if he wants to play for Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappe has to forgo his PSG salary to join Real Madrid
According to Fabrizio Romano, Kylian Mbappe needs to take a lower salary than what he is currently earning at PSG. This is because Real Madrid are not willing to change their wage structure. It is worth noting that Mbappe currently earns around €25 million net salary at the French club.
According to Daily Mail, Real Madrid is ready to offer him a signing fee of €85 million and a 60/40 split of image rights. The top earners currently at Real Madrid are Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham.
If Kylian Mbappe signs for Real Madrid, the club might offer Mbappe’s mother Fayza Lamari a contract that will make her son Madrid’s top earner. The reason for the huge signing bonus is to compensate for the low basic salary and the loyalty bonus that he would have received from PSG.
Kylian Mbappe allegedly joining Real Madrid once PSG contract expires
According to ESPN, Kylian Mbappe has already made up his mind to join the Spanish club Real Madrid as his contract with PSG expires this summer.
The Real Madrid fans had a mixed reaction to this news as most of them are fed up with the ongoing saga. As Kylian Mbappe had previously taken a U-turn from his decision to join the Spanish club in 2022, the fans are not sure whether he will keep his word this time.
But it seems Mbappe has denied the contract extension offered by PSG. It seems he has finally made his decision to join Real Madrid and wear the iconic white jersey. Given he grew up idolizing Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid was always his dream club.
Well, it seems Kylian Mbappe will finally leave PSG to join Real Madrid this summer. Needless to say, a lineup consisting of Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe, and Jude Bellingham will be a threat to any team in the world.
