Real Madrid’s long pursuit of acquiring Kylian Mbappe’s signature might finally be coming to an end. Ever since the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Real Madrid have been interested in bringing Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Every season, there seems to be a new twist in their story, and this season is not any different, as reports have yet again emerged of Mbappe being interested in a sensational shift to Real Madrid.
When will Real Madrid welcome Kylian Mbappe?
It has been reported by ESPN that Kylian Mbappe has finally reached a decision to join Real Madrid, once his contract with PSG ends this season. Mbappe’s future was up in the air, and he had both clubs on tenterhooks due to the suspenseful nature of his decision.
According to EPSN, Mbappe has apparently chosen Real Madrid as his next destination, bringing an excruciating transfer saga to its end finally. Real Madrid had previously offered Mbappe a new contract, one with lower wages than their previous offers.
As a result of Mbappe’s imminent decision to leave PSG for Real Madrid, PSG have already started looking for potential replacements, with prolific AC Milan winger Rafael Leao being the strongest candidate to replace Kylian Mbappe in the French capital. If he is to leave the club as a free agent, Mbappé will be opting out of bonuses that amount to around €100m. On the flip side, his wages at Madrid, are expected to be half of what he currently earns at PSG.
However, there is always the possibility that he could change his mind until the deal is actually signed by both parties, something that happened in 2022.
Real Madrid fans claim Vinicius Jr confirmed Kylian Mbappe’s move
Real Madrid fans believe that their star winger Vinicius Jr has all but confirmed Kylian Mbappe’s move to the Spanish capital in the summer.
After the first reports of Mbappe “choosing to leave Real Madrid” arrived, Mbappe started trending on social media again. The Real Madrid winger even got involved by ‘liking’ a post on Instagram that announced Mbappe’s impending arrival at the Bernabeu.
Vinicius liked a picture by Complex Sneakers, a major sneakers brand, which posted a graphic of Mbappe and Vinicius that read: “Kylian Mbappe to join Vini Jr. at Real Madrid.” They also captioned the post: “Two Sneaker Shopping legends are linking up at Bernabéu soon.”
Back in October, the Brazilian forward admitted he wants to play alongside Mbappe in the Spanish capital, saying, “Everyone here wants to play with Kylian. I hope it happens one day. He is one of the best players, maybe the best.”
