Zinedine Zidane, despite having a rather short coaching career, has been a very successful manager of the game. The 1998 Ballon d’Or winner is one of a select few to achieve stellar success both as a player and a manager.
After the announcement of Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti leaving soon, speculations of Zidane taking the top spot at the Santiago Bernabeu have sparked again. That is something that will definitely boost Kylian Mbappe‘s transfer to Real Madrid, who has idolised the French legend for his lifetime.
With Ancelotti leaving, Real Madrid to execute tried, tested Zidane formula
Carlo Ancelotti, the current Italian manager of Real Madrid, will lead Brazil next summer, according to Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the Brazilian Football Confederation. Tite resigned as Brazil’s head coach after the team’s quarterfinal loss to Croatia at the World Cup, and since then, Ramon Menezes, the under-20s coach, has been in charge of the team’s friendlies.
With the expiration of his current contract next summer, Ancelotti would become the first foreign manager to lead Brazil’s national team since 1965.

This news has sparked rumors that Zinedine Zidane will be returning to the Santiago Bernabeu for a third spell. The 51-year-old French icon managed the club from the 15-16 season until the 17-18 season during his first spell, and on his second stint, he was there from 18-19 to 20-21.
In total, Zidane managed Real Madrid for 263 matches, with 174 wins, 53 draws, and 36 losses, with a 66% win ratio. During his first spell, he won three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles with Real Madrid, alongside the LaLiga in 2016-17. Upon his return as the Real Madrid manager, he won the LaLiga in 2019-20.
It’s no wonder why Florentino Perez wants to turn back to the 1998 Ballon d’Or winner to take the managerial role once again, given his track record for Los Blancos.
Kylian Mbappe entering final year in PSG contract
The 24-year-old’s future still remains in the dark after he announced that he won’t be triggering the contract extension with PSG. With this, Kylian Mbappe has officially entered the final year of his PSG contract.
It’s no secret anymore that Mbappe is determined to play for Real Madrid, and with rumours of Zidane potentially replacing Ancelotti as Real Madrid coach will only boost his desire to join the Spanish giants. Zidane himself has spoken about managing Mbappe one day.

In an interview with French news outlet L’Equipe, Zidane said: “When you’re a manager and there’s a player like him, of course, you’d want to manage him.
“Lots of things can happen. It could happen one day. He is a player that wears that France shirt well.
“In any case, I admire what he does. It’s beautiful. It’s strong.”
