Darvin Ham, who is currently the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, has not been welcomed by the fans, as they continue to blast him over his decisions.
Ham was recently criticized by fans, after he decided to team up with Taurean Prince and retain him for the season, as many Lakers officials were keen on trading Prince.
Darvin Ham defends not starting Rui Hachimura sooner
After getting brutally trolled online for his decision to include Taurean Prince in the Lakers, Darvin Ham spoke about the issue and presented his side of the argument.
Ham said, “I mean, things play out the way they play out, the same could be said when you’re looking and you’re going through different stretches during the season.”
Ham added, “I think whether it’s injuries or lack of performance, if guys struggle or go through a tough stretch, it forces you to make different decisions, and you have to activate different lineups or different schemes, or whatever you feel like in the moment is going to help you get through whatever rough stretch you are going through.”
Rui Hachimura seems a viable and logical option for the Lakers, when it comes to replace their star forward Anthony Davis, who is suffering from back-to-back injuries this season.
Rui Hachimura led Lakers to victory after replacing Anthony Davis
After suffering a left knee hyperextension in Tuesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Anthony Davis was ruled out for the game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. This gave an opportunity for Japanese forward Rui Hachimura to showcase his talent.
Hachimura’s 32 points and 10 rebounds were crucial for the Lakers in the game against the Grizzlies, which helped the Lakers defeat the 13th-seeded team 136-124. “I think I was happy to be able to come back here,” Hachimura said. The Lakers are 16-7 since Hachimura joined the starting lineup, replacing Anthony Davis.
Rui Hachimura recently even got applause from none other than the Lakers MVP himself, as LeBron James had some high praise for the 26-year-old power forward. Hachimura is improving with every game and is set to become the next big thing for the Lakers. But right now, he has some serious work to do as the Lakers are yet to reach the playoff spot, with only 9 games left in the season.
