Lakers’ Injury Update: JJ Redick Weighs in on Lakers’ Starting Lineup Change with Rui Hachimura

The Los Angeles Lakers have been navigating a challenging stretch with injuries to key players, including forward Rui Hachimura. A sprained ankle has sidelined Hachimura, causing him to miss the team’s last three games.

In his absence, rookie Dalton Knecht has stepped up, delivering impressive performances and earning a spot in the starting lineup. However, coach JJ Redick stated that once Hachimura recovers, he will reclaim his place in the starting lineup,

Dalton Knecht has shined in Rui Hachimura’s absence, averaging 26 points per game and shooting 63.6% in three starts, including an incredible 37-point game against the Utah Jazz. Coach JJ Redick acknowledged Knecht’s contributions but confirmed that Hachimura would return to the starting lineup once healthy.

On Twitter, Dave McMenamin stated, “JJ Redick says he expects Hachimura to return to the starting lineup in Dalton Knecht’s place when he is healthy. He says it will be on the coaching staff to find more minutes for Knecht though.”

Some fans agree that giving Rui Hachimura his starting spot back will be the right decision, but others feel bad for rookie Dalton Knecht, who has been shining in his role.

Fans share mixed feelings about JJ Redick’s recent statement

Dalton Knecht has quickly won over fans with his impressive performance, especially after his standout game against the Utah Jazz. Many fans are hoping he stays on the main roster and gets more playing time. However, others believe JJ Redick’s decision to stick with Rui Hachimura as a starter is the right choice for now.
