After playing with dedication for 22 seasons in the NBA, it’s easy to think basketball is everything for LeBron James. But he also has ways to take a break and refresh his mind.
One of his favorite hobbies is playing Madden NFL, especially during road trips or in the offseason. Rookie Dalton Knecht noticed it and shared that the four-time champion really enjoys playing Madden NFL.
Knecht was surprised to learn that Madden NFL is more than just a hobby for LeBron. Knecht, who joined the Lakers this past summer, didn’t expect LeBron to enjoy the popular football video game so much.
The rookie star said, “I’d probably say how much he loves to play Madden. I feel like he always talks about him playing Madden, but I didn’t really know it was that much. He watches it on the plane and stuff. He watches film just like it’s basketball. It’s crazy.”

For LeBron, Madden is more than just a game—it’s a true passion. His deep involvement shows just how competitive he is in the virtual game. His ranking among the top 100 players in Madden 25 is not surprising.
