The Lakers’ curse of losing games without LeBron James seems to be finally over. In the last two games, the Los Angeles Lakers proved they could win without their star player. A big part of that success is thanks to Luka Dončić, who led the team with confidence and skill.
Everyone is praising the 26-year-old for stepping up when it matters most. One of the most impressive things about Luka is his consistency—win or lose, he never forgets to put up a good score on the board. That’s exactly what he did on Tuesday night; his consistency has no match.
Despite having an off night on offense, Luka Dončić still led the Lakers to a blowout win. He finished the game with 21 points, 14 assists, and nine rebounds—just one rebound short of a triple-double.
Even though his shooting wasn’t great (5-of-20 from the field and 1-of-7 from three), he made sure to keep the team moving forward.

Meanwhile, Austin Reaves has been stepping up big time in the last four games. After the Lakers’ loss to the Brooklyn Nets on March 10, Reaves admitted he needed to “play better” and called himself out for his poor shooting.
Since then, he’s bounced back impressively, scoring at least 28 points in four straight games, including two 30-point performances. He’s also shooting an impressive 52.9% from the field during this stretch.
It’s amazing to see these players growing into leaders and finding ways to carry the team without their top-tier legends.
Luka Dončić praised Austin Reaves performance against Spurs
Luka Dončić had nothing but good things to say about his Lakers teammate Austin Reaves after their big 125-109 win over the San Antonio Spurs. Reaves put on a show, scoring 30 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and handing out 6 assists. He also shot an impressive 57% from the field.
“This guy just scored 30 points in his 4th game in 5 days… He's an amazing player. For him to go undrafted is unbelievable”

Talking about Reaves’ recent performance, Luka Doncic said, “This guy just scored 30 in his fourth game in five days. That explains everything. He’s an amazing player. For him to go undrafted is—unbelievable. It’s not easy to go undrafted and then play at this level. It’s amazing just to be by his side.”
