Lamar Jackson, a former Raven, appears to be extremely pleased with the Ravens’ signing of Odell Beckham Jr. The two of them were recently caught on camera in Miami Beach celebrating the signing. Beckham and the Baltimore teams agreed to a deal worth $18 million for a single year.
With five seasons of experience with the Ravens, Jackson holds the record for the most games with a perfect passer rating in a single season. As the second unanimous MVP and the fourth African-American quarterback to win the MVP award in 2019, he made history.
How did Lamar Jackson and OBJ celebrate Beckham and the Ravens’ recent signing?
According to the TMZ report, Beckham and Jackson celebrated their new contract with a lavish dinner at the renowned steakhouse Prime 112 in Miami Beach.
They dined there with a group of seven people until almost 1:45 am. However, they were both seen sitting together in the club with a bottle girl holding a sign that read, “Welcome Lamar & OBJ,” which speaks volumes about how happy they were.
Jackson previously expressed his happiness about the Ravens signing OBJ by posting a screen capture of a FaceTime call with Beckham on Instagram with the hashtag “#TRUZZ.”
Odell had also been observed expressing his own excitement by leaving the comment “SHEEEEESH” on LJ’s post.
Will Jackson join Beckham in Ravens?
Even though Odell’s spot on the Ravens team is now set, Jackson’s future on the team is still up in the air. Although the 29-year-old made it clear that he wanted to play for the Ravens, it appears that they do not recognize his value and are not motivated to keep him on the team.
“As of March 2nd I requested a trade from the Ravens organization for which the Ravens has not been interested in meeting my value,” Jackson posted on Twitter.
Lamar Jackson was given the $32.41 million non-exclusive franchise tag by the Ravens, allowing him to engage in contract negotiations with other teams in early March. The Baltimore Ravens would then have the opportunity to match any deal that he finds that they like and Lamar must accept the Ravens’ offer if they decide to match the deal.
Despite the inability to actually reach an agreement on a new contract, both parties had long maintained openly that they desired a long-term agreement. Even, Ravens coach John Harbaugh even said he is still confident Jackson will be at the helm in 2023.
Moreover, Jacksons’ celebration with Odell and his post regarding the signing with two lightning bolts and a rocket ship would seem to indicate that the QB is entirely on board with the signing. We are also hoping to see the duo perform on the field wearing the same jersey.
