Everyone was excited for Monday Night RAW to see what John Cena would do after becoming a 17-time WWE Champion. His post-WrestleMania interview had everyone talking because he promised to stay tuned to RAW to see how he would shake up wrestling.
When the most awaited moment finally arrived, Cena embraced the loud “Asshole” chant from the crowd, opening his arms wide to take it all in.
Cena entered the main event of WrestleMania as a 16-time world champion, tied with the legendary Ric Flair. But by defeating Cody Rhodes via pinfall, he broke the record and became a 17-time world champion. Cena didn’t win clean, though. He landed a cheap low blow and then hit Cody with the championship belt to steal the victory.
Unfortunately, we didn’t see Ric Flair appear in the arena to stop Cena from breaking his record. But what’s done is done—and now, the heel version of John Cena is fully embracing the hate with an evil smile.
After fully embracing his heel character since Elimination Chamber, John Cena lashed out in frustration every time, which is nothing new for him. On this Monday Night Raw, he did the same, calling fans selfish and accusing them of only taking from him without appreciating his sacrifices.

Then immediately gets Asshole chants at him 😂
The same crowd that once loved Cena as their GOAT couldn’t hold back their anger. The whole T-Mobile Arena erupted with loud “a**shole” chants. In the viral video, Cena embraced the chants with a smile and raised arms, as if he were enjoying the negative reactions more than anything.
However, it wasn’t always like this. At one point of his promo, the Las Vegas crowd even apologized to their newly crowned WWE Undisputed Champion.
John Cena didn’t take ‘we are sorry’ chant from T-Mobile arena
Before the negative chants, John Cena received a huge apology from the crowd. It was actually Cena who asked for it. He first criticized the fans for cheering him, saying they didn’t have the right after bullying him on SmackDown. Cena told them they owed him an apology, so the crowd chanted, “We are sorry.”

But when the actor-turned-wrestler refused to accept their apology, the “sorry” chants quickly turned into “asshole” chants. This moment truly solidified his heel character. It showed that Cena no longer cared about the crowd’s approval.
The segment ended with Randy Orton hitting Cena with an RKO. It looks like we’re about to see a 14-time champion face off with a 17-time champion soon.
