LeBron James Admits Christmas Match with Stephen Curry May Be a Farewell Duel

LeBron James, a 20-time All-NBA player for the Los Angeles Lakers, has had many rivalries in his career. However, his rivalry with Stephen Curry, a 10-time All-NBA point guard for the Golden State Warriors, might be the most important.

The two NBA legends are set to face each other on Christmas night, which will be exciting for fans. However, the news leading up to the game has upset many basketball fans.

The Christmas Day game at Chase Center in San Francisco will be the fourth time LeBron James and Stephen Curry play on this holiday. LeBron leads 2-1 in their past Christmas games, with their last meeting in 2018 when the Lakers won.

However, the Lakers recently lost to the Pistons 114-117. After the game, LeBron reflected on his upcoming match against Curry’s Warriors and said it might be one of their last matchups.

James, who is in his 22nd NBA season, told ESPN, “Any time you get an opportunity to be on the court and compete versus one of the greatest to ever play this game. You don’t take it for granted. I don’t know how many more opportunities we’re going to get to go against each other.”

LeBron James may be hinting at retirement with his statement. However, he’s mentioned retiring before, so it’s not the first time he’s brought it up.

LeBron James reflects on his limited time in the NBA

LeBron James has said that this season might be his last in the NBA. Even though the Lakers have a poor win-loss record, LeBron has already set many NBA records. But despite all his achievements, he admitted that his time is limited. Following the Lakers’ game against the Hawks, he expressed uncertainty about the time.

He added, “I just go out there and just play the game the right way. Compete at a high level and leave it all out on the floor every time I go out there. My time is very limited on how long I’ll play. I’m just happy to still be able to play the game that I love.”
