The new NBA season is starting soon, and teams are getting ready for preseason games. Fans are very excited for the Lakers’ first game. Everyone is thrilled to see LeBron James and his son, Bronny, play together. Right now, everyone in the NBA community wants to watch this father-son duo, no matter who wins the game.
Truly speaking, Bronny James, not his dad LeBron, is under a lot of pressure. Since he started playing, people have criticized him for lousy play and said he only got his spot because of his dad. If Bronny doesn’t play well in the Lakers’ first game, people might be very upset. Hopefully, LeBron’s advice will help him.
In an interview with Tim Chan from RollingStone about his new Hennessy collaboration, LeBron James shared the advice he gave the youngster for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season. He said, “The biggest thing I’ve told him is to stay focused and be himself. I’ve been on this journey for over two decades and have a blueprint to share for his own journey and his own abilities.”
He added, “I’m excited to just be present for him [both] as a teammate and a father. And beyond his career and as general advice for life: have fun.” Bronny has valuable support from his father’s experience and guidance as he starts his NBA journey. He is dedicated to improving and is working hard to represent himself in the best way possible.
LeBron James isn’t concerned about Bronny’s Summer League stats
While LeBron James was with Team USA at the Paris Olympics, Bronny got a lot of criticism for how he played in the Summer League. As usual, the 39-year-old defended his son, saying Bronny’s Summer League stats don’t matter much. He knows this summer is about Bronny getting used to the league and improving before the regular season starts.
While at the 2024 Olympic training camp, LeBron James spoke to the press about his hopes for his kid. He said, “I just hope (he) just gets his feet wet in the NBA — the pace of the game, the speed of the game, the physicality of the game. But what he does in the California Classic and Summer League, it doesn’t matter if he plays well and it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t play well.”
