A rape case verdict has ordered former NFL star Le’Veon Bell to pay $25 million in damages. However, Bell is defending himself with a controversial statement, claiming he faced attacks for his support of Donald Trump.
Le’Veon Bell’s cousin, Jada Bell, filed a case accusing him of sexually assaulting her for years, starting when she was just six or seven. Bell denies the claims and says he never got any documents about the case.
His lawyer also argued that the judgment was unfair because it violated his rights. Bell also said he wasn’t living in Ohio when he was supposedly served papers.
After the rape case verdict, Bell posted on social media, saying people attacked him because he is a Black man and a Trump supporter. He doesn’t understand why and said, “It don’t matter tho, we STILL GOIN UP.”

Bell has supported Donald Trump in the past, even speaking for him in one of his campaigns. He also said he would leave the country if Kamala Harris became president.
However, many people on social media didn’t agree with Bell’s defensive statements, and some are responding strongly to what he said about racism and political attacks.
