Retired NFL star Le’Veon Bell used to play football at Groveport Madison High School in Ohio, where he was a star athlete. He ran for over 3,000 yards and scored 43 touchdowns in just three seasons.
Unfortunately, his great legacy at the school took a hit after his recent $25 million rape case verdict, costing him the honor of having his name on the football stadium.
Le’Veon Bell recently faced big consequences after a court ruled that he must pay $25 million in a rape case. His cousin filed the lawsuit, saying that Bell abused her for many years, starting when she was a child.
Because of this ruling, Groveport Madison Schools in Ohio, where Bell attended school, removed his name from their football field. The school explained that its contract allowed it to cancel the naming agreement if someone’s actions were morally wrong.

They said it was no longer right to honor Bell, given the serious charges against him. The school officials stated, “In light of a civil suit that found Mr. Bell liable for over $25 million for serious misconduct involving a minor, the district determined that continuing to honor the naming rights agreement was no longer appropriate or aligned with the values of Groveport Madison Schools.”
You might be surprised to know that the rape case verdict isn’t the only reason for removing his name. Le’Veon Bell also didn’t keep his promise to donate $750,000, which made the school upset with him.
Is Le’Veon Bell facing a major financial breach?
Le’Veon Bell’s reputation is being hit by serious legal and financial troubles. The biggest issue is a $25 million judgment in a rape case, which led to his name being removed from his school.
But that’s not all—Groveport Madison school also cut ties with him over a failed donation deal. Bell promised $750,000 for a new football field but stopped paying after giving $300,000, leaving the school $450,000 short.
